Come join the celebration of Brazil’s Independence in Newark on September 6 and 7 13 and 14 at Riverbank Park, between Jackson and Somme Streets. The festivities are being postponed due to severe weather warnings for this weekend. Organizers felt it would be difficult to build tents with 40mph winds as well as for the well being of participants. Check weather.

Program:
The festival begins on Saturday, September 13th at 10:00am on Market Street between Jackson and Somme Streets and ends at 10:00pm.
On Sunday, September 14th the festival continues and includes a parade at 2:00pm along Market Street with the participation of Brazilian cultural associations and groups from different countries and invited guests from other cities. The participation of about 20 institutions is expected.
At 6:00pm you will hear the Brazilian National Anthem in the presence of authorities and guests.
