UPDATE:
LusoAmericano: Free Lead Screening at East Side High School March 15
On Saturday, March 15, from 9am to 4 pm, there will be free screenings to team members who utilized the Ironbound Athletic Field as their home field and to those in the community that regularly utilized the field as a playground.
The lead testing will consist of a venous blood test that will be submitted for analysis to an appropriate testing facility. A consent form must be signed by the parent or legal guardian of any one under the age of eighteen and a parent or guardian must accompany the child to the screening. It is recommended that the name of the family physician and address be provided to us at the time of the screening. Test results will be forwarded to the physician.
The lead testing will take place on March 15 at the East Side High School, 238 Van Buren Street, Newark, New Jersey. It is strongly recommended that any individual interested in participating in the lead testing make an appointment. If any individuals show up at East Side High School without an appointment, he or she may experience a considerable delay.
Please be advised that all minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. If you have any questions, please contact Shonda Bryant, Program Coordinator, Newark Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program at 973-733-5323 (LEAD).
