Ironbound pool closes

…for annual maintenance:

According to the media the City of Newark will be closing its two indoor pools for maintenance and cleaning. The Ironbound pool will be closed through September 21, re-opening on the 22nd while the John F. Kennedy pool will close on September 22, re-open on October 13.

Workers from the Division of Public Buildings will paint floors, replace pool filters and install paper towel and soap dispensers in the pool restrooms.

Personally, I haven’t been to ither of these pools, but I know someone who took their kids there for swimming lessons, I believe. Although, you don’t usually hear great things exactly about the Newark facilities, I’m glad that people are taking this action. It’s important to keep these facilities open for the kids!!
