Our dear friend and Mayor has started his own blog too. Moving Newark Forward: Inside City Hall with Newark Mayor Cory Booker. So far he has written about the Democratic Convention in Denver and a glimse of what a Saturday is like for a Mayor.
Hi, I’m Cory Booker, Mayor of Newark, NJ. I’ve started this blog as an opportunity not only to record the inner workings of my office and my own mind, but also to hear from both those who support me and those who may not. So please, make this page a conversation. Together we can move Newark forward. -C

Barack Obama has made a move to elect a local community Organizer from New Jersey to be one of the head community organizers of the New Jersey Sector in his campaign. Barack Obama is launching a G.F.C. “Grassroots Finance Campaign committee.” Where normal community Organizers can organize and bring people into the campaign. Omar Dyer has been that student that Barack Obama found, and he has been able to off-set the ways of Karl Rove and the smear politics of yester-year. So Barack Obama knows how important New Jersey will be on sending a message to the country that community organizers can make a difference in America. So My Plan is to pull the base of New Jersey in as strong as it can be and then attract new comers to this campaign. Yet, I have to get people like you to know who I am because in the general media: Community Organizers can’t make a difference. I am asking you to join me and spread the word: Together we can change the face of this campaign, and New Jersey has a huge say in this campaign with the hard working citizens like you and me. Are You Fired Up! Are You Ready To Go! If one man can change a candidate, and one candidate can change a country — imagine what one country can do to change the world. Let’s grassroots organize, let’s community organize, and help ROCK THE VOTE For Barack Obama.

It takes a community organizers to change the focus of America.
Hello Mr. Booker,
I recently saw you on Bill Mahr and I had to tell you how impress I was. Not only by what you said but I did some research and you’re very a distinguished gentleman. I’m very proud that we have leaders like you working to make this country a better place.
I live in Utah so I’m far from being a constituent , but I’m definitely a fan. Keep up the efforts of change I can’t wait to see you on the next level of politics!

P.S.
You have also inspired me my decision process of going to law school.
Sir, Congratulations on your work with the community / city. My husband who is elgible for retirement admires you so much that he does not want to leave the P. force as long as you are in charge. Needless to say those in certain positions in the P.department is making it difficult. Your P.force will not gain the respect of the citizens because they do not know how to respect each other. Those in positions who suppose to be God fearing and professional lacks the wisdom in speaking with subordinates who actually kills themselves for the department and the community. Mr. Mayor I’m sorry to use this section to voice my complaint but I am hoping that you read this section daily so that those in charge of this department, the Director can look at interdepartmental policy for professional conduct within the department. No one deserves to be yelled at like they are a child in front of their boss and others within the room and those outside who heard this unprofessional leader. If I sound like an upset spouse, I am.
Thanking you in advance for addressing this matter and again congratulations on your work with the city.

Hello Mayor Booker,
I, too, recently saw you participate in Bill Maher’s Real Time, and was truly impressed. I live in Colorado, so do not have the privilege to vote for you.
I applaud your efforts to reduce our prison population and particularly the programs you support to keep parents in their children’s lives and to bring previously imprisoned persons back into productivity in our society. We are throwing away people and their families with our current system. We are giving errors of judgment a life sentence of poverty and depression. This is sucking the life’s blood out of our entire society with the financial burden that our current courts and prison system demand, to say nothing about unnecessarily destroying lives of families. When one person goes to prison, their entire network of family and friends go with them. The reputations are so diminished that the ability to seek employment or to serve in government is greatly restricted.
Increasing our staff of probation officers and sentences of supervised probation (instead of prison) would decrease our need for growing prisons. Prisons are a big business in our country and it preys upon the poor.
Thank you for your good works, and hope to see you on the national scene.
Best wishes, Bev
Dear Mr. Booker,
I am a 78 year old man who among other things sent 25 million packets of American Seeds TO RUSSIA I heard your idea of what we called during the war,”a victory garden” I CAN AND WISH TO HELP YOU.
FIRST, THERE ARE FORTY MILLION AMERICANS WHO CAN USE THEIR FOOD STAMPS TO BUY SEEDS;AND OR PLANTS. I CAN NOT HOE A FIELD BUT i AM AN EXPERT IN THE DISTRIBUTION OF SEEDS. DURING THE WAR WE GREW 25 PERCENT OF ALL THE FRESH VEGETABLES IN THE U.S. WE CAN DO IT AGAIN. I WAS TWELVE WHEN I HAD MY GARDEN. GIVE ME 200 YOUR BOYS AND GIRLS AND WE WILL FEED YOUR COMMUNITY.
